July 18th, 2021, 1 PM MNT - Job Hunting Tips and Tricks

Learn to build a resume from Google Docs, Learn to download it and upload it to job sites.  Intro to searching for jobs on Indeed and craigslist.  Email info@thetechpals.org for the Zoom invite.

July 11th, 2021, 1 PM MNT - Google Docs Basics

Learning the Google Docs interface and text basics, select, delete, drag, drop, cut, copy, and paste text.  Learn formatting text and adding hyperlinks, indents and tabs and paragraphs.  Learn to use headers and footers and page breaks.  Email info@thetechpals.org for the Zoom invite.

June 27th, 2021, 1 PM MNT - Games & Games with Friends and Family

Learn how to play games online with your loved ones across the country.  We will feature Scrabble and Words with Friends 2 (many games require a facebook account and we recommend you have one for attending this workshop).  Learn how to play some popular games on your devices.  Learn about the Microsoft Solitaire Collection with solitaire, free cell and more.  Learn about apps to play poker for fun.  Other games to be featured include Wordscapes, Mahjong, 8 Ball Pool, and 2048.   Email info@thetechpals.org for the Zoom invite.

June 20th, 2021, 1 PM MNT - Introduction to Email

Get an Introduction to email.  Learn common features and functions such as sending and receiving emails.  Learn what a cc and bcc is and how to add one. Learn how to save contacts, learn about watching for red flags in emails regarding scams, as well as valuable time saving tips.   Email info@thetechpals.org for the Zoom invite.

June 13th, 2021, 1 PM MNT - Google Photos

June 6th, 2021, 1PM MNT - Food Delivery

May 30th, 2021, 1PM MNT - Facebook for beginners

 Set up a Facebook account in this workshop.  Learn how to make a post, upload a photo, write on someone’s wall, how to like, comment on, and share posts, chat and messaging, and facebook groups.  Email info@thetechpals.org for the Zoom invite.

May 23rd, 2021, 1PM MNT - Video Chatting

 Google Duo, Zoom, and Meet Basics.  Learn about the different types of video chat apps.  Set up a google account for using Google Duo.  Learn how to use Google Duo, a simple video chat app that lets you communicate across all devices with no sign up required.  Video chat from Chromebook/android to iPhone.   Email info@thetechpals.org for the Zoom invite

May 16th, 2021, 1PM MNT - Streaming Video

 Learn about all the choices beyond cable TV.  Learn what to expect from a free membership vs a paid membership.  Learn where to find sports, news, movies, and TV shows.  Learn about the most popular video streaming services, Hulu, NetFlix, YouTube, and Disney +.  Learn where to find old time TV shows using Crackle.   Email info@thetechpals.org for the Zoom invite

April 25th, 2021, 1PM MNT - Search Better with Google

April 18th, 2021, 1pm MNT - Signing up for a COVID Vaccine

 We will be walking everyone through the Walgreens App and showing everyone step by step how to sign up.  We will also explore additional pharmacy apps in the event that Walgreens had no appointments in the area.  Helpful tip for finding appointments, travel outside of Boulder County.  Email info@thetechpals.org for the Zoom invite.

April 11th, 2021, 1pm MNT - Staying Safe Online

 Understand the risks and learn how to avoid them online.  Tips and tricks to create strong passwords.  Learn about your browser security features and how they work.  Learn when it’s safe for online banking.  Tips to avoid email-based spam and phishing scams followed by answering your questions regarding personal experiences of  scammed. In conjunction with the Longmont Senior Center and SCTC, Tech Pals co hosts a drop in tech help virtual lap on Fridays between 2pm and 4pm eastern.  We also host a virtual game time on Thursdays at 1pm.  See the SCTC website HERE for more info.

Leaving a meeting without ending it.  Screen share.  Checking audio,  Breaking into groups (general and specific i.e. peaks and prairies.  What is Zoom Bombing and how to deal with it. How to deal with a waiting room.  How to mute everyone.  How to kick someone off the meeting.  Is security something to worry about and if it is what do we do about it.
